The problems faced by Senator Leila de Lima just keep on piling up even if she has lost her chairmanship of the Senate committee on justice and human rights.
Senate Majority Leader Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, chair of the Senate committee on ethics and privilege, on Wednesday (Sept. 21) disclosed that another ethics complaint has been filed against De Lima.
However, he said he has yet to read the complaint, which was filed on Tuesday (Sept. 20).

“I haven’t seen it (complaint). The committee just informed me that somebody filed a new complaint [against De Lima],” Sotto said.
So far, two ethics complaints have been filed against De Lima at the Senate. On top of this, she is facing an electoral protest before the Senate Electoral Tribunal.
Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II has also confirmed that the Department of Justice is set to file criminal charges against De Lima this week over her alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) when she was justice
