The Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) is leaving no stone unturned in its crusade against abusive public officials. Even past projects are not free from their scrutiny. This is why alleged-Vice President Leni Robredo will reportedly soon be summoned by the anti-corruption agency to answer questions regarding some anomalous details in the multi-million peso fish port and ice plant and storage project she funded during her days as a Congresswoman.

The project was just one of many funded by Robredo during her single term as Congresswoman for the third district of Camarines Sur. In 2014 alone, her district was allotted P1.4 B worth of projects.

The fishery in question, the Sabang Fishport and Cold Storage Facility, was inaugurated on May 5, 2016 by then-President Benigno Aquino III himself. The project, like many others during Robredo’s single-term stint in the House, was funded by the Disbursement Acceleration Program (DAP). Yes, the same DAP that has since become unanimous with government corruption and greed.

According to PACC Commissioner Manuelito Luna, PACC Chairman Date Jimenez has already given the “green light” for Robredo to be summoned by January next year.
