Anthony Garcia alias “Tony,” one of the persons of interest in the horrific Bulacan Massacre casewas recently found dead in Pacalag, San Miguel, Bulacan.

Garcia was reportedly taken early morning on Friday while he was staying at his grandfather’s house in Bulacan. This information was confirmed by the San Jose Del Monte Police Chief, Superintendent Fitz Macariola.

Tony’s death was confirmed by one of his relatives who hid behind the name “Mateo.”

In his interview with ABS-CBN‘s radio station DZMM, Mateo said:

“Sana po hindi na pinahirapan. Kung pinatay, pinatay na lang.”

Mateo also narrated how he discovered the body of his dead relative:

“Pinuntahan ko po sa site na pinagtapunan. Naka-masking tape ang mukha, naka-masking tape din ang kamay patalikod at may tama ng baril sa ulo at dibdib, tumagos sa may braso”

Mateo told DZMM that he received a call on Saturday morning saying that a body was found in Pacalag. Once he arrived, he confirmed that it really was Tony’s remains.

Despite Mateo’s confirmation, Superintendent Isagani Enriquez prefers to wait for Superintendent Macariola to verify if the body is indeed Tony’s. Enriquez said:

“Nakausap ko yung hepe ng San Jose del Monte, on the way na siya sa aming area para i-confirm kung ito po talaga yung kanilang person of interest. Marami po siyang gunshot wounds. Naka-wrap po ng masking tape yung mukha.”

Tony was one of the people fingered by suspect Carmelino “Miling” Ibañez who confessed to killing all the victims and claims that Tony and Ronaldo“Inggo” Pacinos were his accomplices in the Bulacan Massacre. Inggo was found dead on July 4, 2017.

Tony was already held by the authorities but was eventually released due to the lack of evidence against him. He was said to be a drug user although Mateo claims those were false accusations. Mateo talked about his relative’s innocence and said:

“Parang nasasangkot daw siya pero parang walang matibay na ebidensiya kaya siya ay pinakawalan.”

Another suspect, Miling’s cousin, Roosebelt “Ponga” Sorima, was also recently found dead. This makes Tony the 3rd person of interest in the Bulacan Massacre case to be the victim of extra-judicial killings.

Alvin Mabesa, the last remaining person of interest in the Bulacan Massacre case, is still missing. The last anybody heard of him was when he was reportedly abducted by men riding in a van.
