During the offer of President elect duterte noong lunes, sinabi ni Gina Lopez na “I want to say whether I’m in DENR or not, I will give my 100 percent support to this very good man,” Lopez said, referring to Duterte.
Kinu konsidera ni president elect Duterte and DENR post bilang isang mahalagang cabinete, upang masugpo ang nakakasirang illegal mining ng bansa.
Dagdag pa ni Lopez na ang pagkikita nila ni Duterte ay para ipahayag ang kanyang concern hinggil mining industry ng bansa..
“I just wanted to give him some ideas, then he offered the position. Nagulat na nga ako eh. Sabi ko, ‘Sir alam mo magiging controversial ako’,” she told ABS-CBN News in an interview at Davao City’s airport on Monday.
Kilala si Gina lopez sa kanyang anti-mining advocacy, at hinahangaan niya si Duterte sa pagpapakita nito ng genuine concern sa kalikasan at ang welfare para sa mga magsasaka at mangingisda
Sang-ayon rin dito si Sison, sa pag appoint ni President Elect Duterte kay Gina.
“Mabuti naman. Kasi si Gina Lopez, matagal nang advocate. Laban siya sa mining at pollutant types of energy. Angkop yung appointment,” Sison said during a video conference in Davao City.
Si Gina Lopez bilang managing director of the ABS-CBN Lingkod Bayan Foundation, ay malugid rin umano itong susuportahan ng ABS-CBN sa kanyang bagong posisyon sa DENR.
