Richard Gomez, Mayor Of Ormoc City, Leyte Provided Support For A 102-Years-Old Woman!

On May 04, 2017, Mayor Richard Gomez awarded the first centenarian gift to a centenarian living in Ormoc City, Leyte with a cash benefit of P100,000. This is in keeping with President Rodrigo Duterte’s signing of the Centenarian Act of 2016 or Republic Act 10868.

Under this law, all Filipinos who have reached the age of 100, whether residing in the country or abroad, shall receive a cash award of P100,000 from the national government as a “centenarian gift.” The fund will be taken from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). Centenarians are also entitled to awards and incentives from their respective city or municipality to be determined by the local government unit.

The Ormoc women who received the award is already 102 years old and is the very first centenarian awardee of Ormo City.

Richard Frank Icasiano Gomez is best known as Richard Gomez of Philippine show business. He was a popular actor, model, athlete, and endorser who later on decided to become a politician. He is currently the incumbent Mayor of Ormoc City, Leyte.
